Sri Lanka Landing and Overflying Permit

The Sri Lanka Landing and Overflying Flying Permit is an authorization issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), allowing an aircraft to land at or fly over Sri Lanka airspace. This permit is essential for any foreign aircraft intending to enter, exit, or transit through Sri Lanka's airspace or airports. The CAASL reviews and approves permit applications, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards, and necessary documentation, contributing to the safe and orderly conduct of air travel within Sri Lanka airspace.

SRI LANKA LANDING PERMIT LEAD TIME:

7 working days (flight should operate on the 8th day) to obtain Sri Lanka landing permission. However, we can also obtain short-notice permission subject to approval from CAASL.

SRI LANKA LANDING PERMIT VALIDITY:

The validity of the Sri Lanka Landing Permit is +48 hours.

SRI LANKA LANDING PERMIT FEES AND CHARGES:

Sri Lanka Civil Aviation Authority does not levy any fees to issue the Sri Lanka Landing Permit. Navigation fees depend on the route flown in Sri Lanka FIR.

We need comprehensive flight details as part of the landing permit application. This includes information such as

  • Purpose of Flight
  • Operator Name
  • ATS Routes (s) to be flown including entry & exit points.
  • Type of Aircraft
  • State of Registry / Nationality
  • Aircraft Registrations
  • Call sign
  • Complete flight details along with crew and pax details (Gen Dec & Pax manifest) are required to apply for the Sri Lanka landing permit.
  • If the Aircraft operated in the past 3 years then details of the same need to be furnished

For medical, ambulance, or relief mission flights, the minimum notice period requirement may be waived. Such cases will be processed on the same day within a few hours, contingent upon the availability of required documents and the CAASL official.
