Nepal Landing and Overflying Permit:

The Nepal Landing and Overflying Flying Permit is an authorization issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) of Nepal, allowing an aircraft to land at or fly over Nepal airspace. This permit is essential for any foreign aircraft intending to enter, exit, or transit through Nepal's airspace or airports. The CAAN reviews and approves permit applications, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards, and necessary documentation, contributing to the safe and orderly conduct of air travel within Nepal airspace.

NEPAL LANDING PERMIT LEAD TIME:

7 working days (flight should operate on the 8th day) to obtain Nepal landing permission. However, we can also obtain short-notice permission subject to approval from CAAN.

The validity of Nepal Landing Permit is +72 hours.

NEPAL LANDING PERMIT FEES AND CHARGES:

Nepal Civil Aviation Authority charges USD 57 fees to issue the Nepal Landing Permit. Navigation fees depend on the route flown in Nepal FIR.

NEPAL LANDING PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:

We need comprehensive flight details as part of the landing permit application. This includes information such as

  • Purpose of Flight
  • Operator Name
  • ATS Routes (s) to be flown including entry & exit points.
  • Type of Aircraft
  • State of Registry / Nationality
  • Aircraft Registrations
  • Call sign
  • Complete flight details along with crew and pax details are required to apply for the Nepal landing permit.

NEPAL LANDING DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED:

The documentation is required to support the Nepal landing permit application. These documents may include:

  1. Certificate of Registration
  2. Certificate of Airworthiness
  3. Insurance Certificate covering third-party liability of not less than 60 million USD
  4. AOC or Ops Specs.
  5. A copy of the Simulator training certificate of PIC
  6. A copy of the English language Proficiency Certificate of PIC if, non –a native English Speaker
  7. If PIC does not have a simulator training certificate then Navigator must be on board, if required we can arrange a navigator on behalf of the operator.
  8. General Declaration
  9. Charter details in case of Aircraft being charter

For medical, ambulance, or relief mission flights, the minimum notice period requirement may be waived. Such cases will be processed on the same day within a few hours, contingent upon the availability of required documents and the CAAN official.
